SPENT BY RETUKNED SOLDIERS. Members of the Otaki branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association, together with others, including His Worship the Minor ~\ir J. p. Brandon), met on Wednesday evening (the anniversary of Messhms) am i indulged in a convivial evening. Mr C. F. Atmoio presided, and after a line spread, propared by Mr and Mrs Lees, al the Jubilee Hotel, stated that it had been decided io eliminate all toasts except that of "The King." and then adjourn to the Club rooms—kindly lent for the occasion—where amusements of various sorts could be indulged in. After expressing a hope that all would pass n pleasant evening the toast of "The King" was honored. Several musical item.- weie afterwards rendered. All present indulged in games, partook of light refreshments, and on the whole spent an enjoyable time.
