Tho Otaki team wore all at sea on the long fiat holes in Palmerston on (Saturday, and suffered defeat at the hands of the Manawatu players by nine games to one. Many of the games were well fought, and the visitors were only beaten on the last greens. Sict - ers. whose long drives suited the links, defeated Cooper, tke first player for Munawatu, one up.
The ladies’ medal round on Saturday resulted in a very easy win for Miss Bonuett, her nott score (71) being nine strokes under the bogey of the course. This player is still improving her game, and will be a hard competitor to defeat in the championships this season, Many visitors are enjoying off days on our* links this winter, and the Club is collecting quite a good sum in green fees. Heard outside the pavilion recently: Visitor, taking his clubs from tke caddy: “Worst round I kavo ever played!’’ Caddy: “Oli, you have played before, Sir?”
