OTAKI THEATRE.
TO-NIGHT. "BUCKING THE LINE." An athlete at twelve, world-famous as star full-back of Yale University's football team at twenty,, a far-travel-ed adventurer at twenty-two, " cattle, raiser on a 3,000-aere rancli of his own in Colorado at twenty-three, a United States Navy aviator and instructor at twenty-eight. Maurice Flynn then tried to lead a quiet and busy life in the office of his father, Joseph A. Flynn, a well-known New York financier. He found it too dull for his adventurous spirit, and turned to motion pictures for his career. Here he found the excitement and adventure his spirit craved, for his fine physique, strength and daring fitted him for strenuous roles. Recently William Fox promoted the famous young athlete to stardom. His first starring picture, "Bucking the Line." from the story by Francis Lnde, opens at the theatre to-night. It wsa was directed by Carl Harbaugh. Molly Malone, the noted screen beauty, is the feminine load. "JACKIE." "Jackie," a William Fox photoplay from the popular novel by Countess Barcvnska, starring Shirley Mason, will also be shown to-night. It is the =torv of a Utile Bussian waif, who is seen far from her native land. Miss Mason's dancing in this picture is said to be delightful. TO-MORROW NIGHT. "A PERFECT CRIME." <.<A Perfect Crime," Allan Dwan's latest comedy-drama, which appears at the theatre to-morrow night, reveals the desirability of indulging in that American pastime, pretending to be what you aren't. The hero Wally Griggs is a grand pretender. V, ith the aid of-a little nerve he is transformed from a timid bank messenger to a dominant humbug whose latest book-on faked travels brings h.m a fortune—- ££ of course a girl. The picture » said to combine humor wrth pathos.and offers clever Mont. Blue, considered one of the ablest ors on the screen, has the role oWal lv Gri<nrs, the awkward, bashful fellow. sums: forth into a dashing social lion. A uniformly good cast has been selected to support Mr Blue. Jacqueline Logan, a former Zcigfeld girl, is seen in the leading feminine role.
