REV. MR PAPAKURA
<r OTAKI—TO-MORROW. The company that Air Louis Alsace will present at the theatre to-morrow is one that should attract. The outstanding member of this company is the Rev. .Mr Papakura, a Maori tenor, "the original singing parson.’’ The Rev. Air Papakura has just concluded a tour of America, and has been specially engaged by Air Louis Alsace for a tour of New Zealand. As a young man he showed great musical ability, arid was advised bv his many friends to try his unusual talents in the concert fields. For the past two years the Rev. Mr Papakura has been appearing in the leading theatres in America, where hi* voice met with immediate recognition. Mr Alsace ha- surrounded the- Rev. Papakura with a competent company of artists, including Madame Bens Te Au, a cultured soprano and who for some time was a resident or Otaki. Mr Alsace will be remembered by the thea-tre-going public as having toured the Dominion with the Royal Japanese Togo-. and the mind-reading boy Argus. He gives an assurance that the present company is one of unusual excellence.
