WEDDING BELLS.

CHENNELLS—DRAKE. The marriage took place at St."' Peter’s Church, Wellington, on Saturday afternoon, of Miss Erica Marjorie Drake, third daughter of Mrs Drake and the late Air Arthur Drake, of ‘ ‘ Waikawa, ’ ’ Alanakau, t o Air Cyril Alfred Chennells, of Alasterton. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon Watson, assisted by the Rev. G. F.

Petrie, AI.A. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Air Roland Drake, wore a lovely gown of soft whito satin with sido panels of lace, scalloped at the hem. The bodice was embroidered in silver beads and finished with a girdle of blue roses. A court train was lined with pule blue satin and fastened from tho shoulders with sprays of orange blossom and silver leaves, and embroidered at hem with silver. Her white tulle veil, worn mop-cap fashion, was held in place with a wreath of silver leaves, and cluster of orange blossoms at each side. A bouquet of white chrysanthemums, roses, and maidenhair ferns with white ribbon streamers, was carried. The bridesmaid was Aliss Molly Long, of Auckland (cousin of j the bride) who was charmingly attirrffl j in a frock of pale apricot crepe-de- t ckene, with a girdle of autumn leaves | and flowers and a veil of apricot georgette with wreath of autumn tinted , leaves. She carried a lovely bouquet I of yellow and bronze chrysanthemums with autumn foliage and streamers. I The bridegroom's gift, o brooch set with pearls, was worn. The train j bearer was Miss Phyllis Jones (Wellington) cousin of the bride, who was daintily frocked in pale blue with an ! over-dress of cream frilled net. and wore a cap of net encircled with a wreath of pale blue roses. She wore the bridegroom’s gift, a gold brooch. Mr Allan Ronaldson. of Alasterton, attended as best man. A few relatives and friends were afterwards received at Dustin’s reception room by the bride’s mother for afternoon tea. where the usual toasts were honored. Amongst the guests present were Afr and Airs Chennells (Masterton) uncle and aunt of the bridegroom, Miss M. Chennells. Air and Mrs Ronaldson (Karori). Air and Mrs W. Hutton (Greytown). Airs Tv. Dalzell (Morrinsville), Mr W. S. Broderick, Miss Burnell, Miss Drake, Mrs H. 0. Jones and Misses Jones (Wellington), Mrs F. Halse and Misses Halse. During the afternoon several musical items were rendered, Miss Evelyn Jones singing delightfully, while humorous recitations were given by Mias Ethel Jones. Mr and Mrs 0. A. Chennells afterwards left on a tour for ChTistchurch. the bride travelling in a nigger brown gabardine coat frock, fur travelling j coat and henna hat.
