A USEFUL MACHINE.
The felling of trees i? part of the early work of the pioneer in nearly all countries, and many appliances have been devised for lightening the labour involved. One of tho latest, which ha? the advantage of lightness and efficiency. has been put on the market by a British frffi. It is driven by an engine which develops 2;-h.p.. and it is capable of felling tree? with the engine placed in almost any position rei lative to the'tree. The saw is driven by means of a coupling rod with universal 1 joints. A clutch is provided to obviate | the stopping and restarting of the enI gine everv time the cut is altered. The I engine is also provided with a pulley. [ ?0 that it can be used for driving stall tionery machinery.
