OTAKI THEATRE.

“THE LAST STRAW.” TO-NIGHT. The fays of the Wild West, of cowpunchers who rode anything on four legs and talked like Will Rogers, are not ended, and they never will be so long ns Buck Jones is alive. Buck Jones is the new sensation of the screen whom William Fox will present in “The Last Straw. Hidden away in an obscure canyon on Agouce ranch, an enormous property which stretches away to the northwest of Los Angeles, is the camp of Buck Jones where the cowboy and the motion picture camera dwell together in happiness. The Buck Jones camp is a complete, self-contain-Western outfit-. It. has a cook house, a blacksmith shop, bunk houses for the cowboys so that they will feel at home, and nifty wall tents with wooden floors for the actresses of the company.

“THE SKY PILOT.” j TO-MORROW NIGHT. j “The Sky Pilot” just graduated, from a theological seminary, goes to a j northwestern cattle ranch community . to teach the cowpunchers religion. His j services arc interrupted by Bill Hen- j dricks, a rough one. He fights and is j told to ght out of the camp. Won over j by the minister’s display of manliness, j Hendricks brings him back and tells j him he must first prove his courage and physical strength if he hopes to spread the gospel there. This the minister does' in various ways, to the satisfaction of all concerned, one of his exploits being the rescue from stampeding cattle of Gwen, daughter of an unbeliever, whom he reforms. “The Sky Pilot” stands over the girl’s prostrate body wd waving his coat, splits the horde of stampeding cattle so that the animals pass to either side. In the | end, “The Sky Pilot” has his church and devotion followers, who have aided the cause by burning the dance ha and putting the gang to rout. Hendricks marries Gwen. “Bang!” a bright Mermaid comedy of 2000 ft., one of the best, will also be shown,.
