An unfortunate accident occurred on Friday evening to Air Stable, manager of the Bank of Australasia at Otaki. While returning liome he met a motorcar which was being driven across the Mill Road railway crossing—a dangcroue place at the best of times. There was insufficient room to pass and the car and motor-cycle collided, with the result that Air Stahle had his leg badly lacerated. Dr. Sharp attended to the injuries, and was obliged to insert several stitches.
Ariss Avail Hope proved the "star” at Saturday night's picture entertainment. Miss Hope, who is a very fine singer, was heard to great advantage in both "Sleep and the Roses.'' and "May Morning.” Both numbers were excellently rendered, but the encore "Swing My Cherub” proved the most popular, her fine rich voice being heard to full advantage. After each item Miss Hope received well-merited applause.
All shops in Levin on Easter Saturday will be open till 9 p.m. A pony, gig and harness are advertised for sale. Airs Muir advertises choice goods suitable for the Easter holidays. Air C. N.
