j SATURDAY’S RESULTS. • Hui Mai v. Poririia, 25—6. j Te Horo v. Otaki, B—s . j Okl Boys Juniors v. Seniors, 24—15. ( 3rd Grade. Old Boys v. Te Horo, 3—3. The above matches were all played on the domain and a fair crowd was present. The first match was the 3rd grade on Ho. .1 ground. Pat Cootes scored a good try for the locals, and Morgan for the visitors. Mr D. Tuna refereed. Old Boys’ Seniors v. Juniors. This match was played directly after the 3rd grade match and the juniors again proved victors. Both sides were fully represented. Tho veteran, AVhata Halcaraia, donned the colours after a interval of about twelve years, and showed some of his old dash. C. O’Rourke was another new comer and showed that ho is .still amongst the best. From tho kick off the game was made a “cracker.” After some fine play G. Winterburn scrambled over for the juniors, while directly after W. D’Ath got over. Udy and 11. Hakaraia scored for the seniors, and at half-time the game was even. On resuming Wallace scored the juniors’ third try. Shortly lifter O’Rourke and Jacob scored. The next try was scored by D. D ’Ath. He kicked for goal and, landed a beauty. Soou after Udy scored, aud with ten minutes to .go, and the scores in favor of the soniors, 15 —14, it looked a certainty, but the juniors had something up their sleeves, and M. Hakaraia scored the two last tries which were converted. The game thus ! ended, 24—15, Mr- Utiku Hapeta refereed.
For the winners, backs Dovey D’Ath was the first choice, closely followed by W. D'Ath, Mclntyre, Enoka Bros, and Were. In the pack all played well. M. Hakaraia was perhaps the pick. For tho losers all the backs did their share. E. Clark, at full, played well; in the three-quarter line Udy and O’Rourke were tho pick. Taipua was hurt and retired. Hakaraia Bros. —Joe, Hapi, and Whata—all came up to expectations, while Jacob Utiku was good. In the pack all did well.
The Otaki-Te Horo match caused a deal of interest, the latter eventually winning after a good contest, B—s.8 —5. Tries were scored by Edginton and Puti, Wildmau converting one, while Pirimi scored for Otaki, Raukawa con-
verting. On Easter Monday both teams will be engaged. The seniors will play Pctone and tho Juniors will meet Marist at Otaki. Teams will appear next issue.
The playing area at Otaki has been in a bad state owing to the grazing of sheep thereon, and it is hoped that for the future sheep will be removed iu good time prior to the playing of matches.
The annual meeting of the Paraparattrnu Football Club was held in the Coronation Hall recently. Mr Ct. Glume occupied the chair. The following officers were elected: President, Mr M. Maclean; vice-presi-dents. Messrs R. Maclean, O. P. Lynch, R. Hosie, AY. J. Howell, E. Clarke, M. Fisher, L. I. Howell, T. K. Kirk, M. Petherick, J. D. Howell, J. Cromb, AV. Cltmie, AY. Stevenson, R. Ryder, AA r . AY. Smith, Dr. Cameron, and A. Bryant; Management Committee, Messrs E. AA’cggery, Clunie, R. Maclean; secretary, AY. H. Mowbray.
After discussion it was resolved to play junior grade this season, owing to.several of last season's players having loft the district.
Tho Club wishes to thank the ladies of the. district for .the kindly manner in which they assisted in supplying refreshments for visiting teams of last season.
