Mr. Mr-, and Miss |v„„. of Cambridge have been lioliday-maki ng in Auckland. Br. Sharp, who recently met with a. „n.sly motor mishap through his car skidding, is making good progress. Mr Witch, M.P., and Mr B. J. Reardon. of WangaJlui, hope to spend a few days 'in Knpiti Island at an early date Mr John Robertson, ex-M.P. for Otaki. has accepted the managership of the Grand Theatre at Christchurch. Word has been received iu Otaki Hint Mr Wintou Brown, son of Mr and Mrs Bvron Brown, has been successful in gaining the degree of Batchelor of Laws. The funeral of the late Mrs T. H. Willi,rhurst, and old Wairarapa identity, took place at Masterton yesterday vrhen the cortege- was a very representative one. Mr Joplin. who has been headmaster of the Wadestown school for 21 years, has resigned. Prior to doing so he was entertained and made the recipient of valuable presentations. Mr A. C. Holms i« to be asked to become a candidate for the Wairarapa seat in the interests of the Liberal Party, although quite a number favor the nomination of Mi J. W. Card, Major of Featherston. Mr and Mr:- W. Burn:- Smith, who have been visiting Pahiatua, have returned to Otaki where Mr Smith ha* resumed duties as headmaster at tt.o State School. We are pleased to report that he has made good progress from his recent accident.
