CROQUET.
A very pleasant afternoon was spent yesterday at Levin, when members of the Otaki Croquet Club were entertained by the Levin Croquet Club. A very keen match played by Mrs Pollock and Mrs Pink (Levin) and Mrs Atkinson and Mrs Wilson (Otaki) resulted iu a win for Otaki. Thus the Pollock stars were brough to Otaki for the first time. Other competitions were held when Mrs Oiliver was successful in winning the prize. winning the prize. A delightful afternoon tea was served, and three cheers were enthusiastically given by tho Otaki members for the pleasant time spent. A very generous gift has been donated to Ihe Otaki Croquet Club by the Mayor, Mr Brondon, in the shape of brooches. These will lie known as the "Brandon Brooches," and will he very helpful in promoting inter-club matches. As the club was successful in bringing home the Pollock Stars in the match played at Levin yesterday, it is to be hoped that they will have the honour of being the first, to win the Brandon Brooches.
