de»t. states that prolessor Laneiani, an eminent archaelogist, describes the Christian iiypogeum, recently unearthed at Hume' while excavating tor a garage, as the most wonderlul archaeological discovery oi our time, the find' consists ui wait paintings el Saints Peter and Paul and other Apostles which are much older than any other extant. Laneiani declares it •of exceptional interest because it evidently shows the Apostles as they really were, instead ol the conventional shapes. The earliest pictorial representations ol ;he Apostles, previous to this discovery, date from the fourth century. These ate at least two hundred years earlier, though some archaeologists believe they were panned in the actual liletime of the Apostles.
