AQUATIC CARNIVAL.
[ AT THE BEAOH TO-MORROW. I Mr W. Griffiths, secretary of tho Paekakariki Surf Club, has informed the local Carnival Committee that he reI grets that owing to the railwaymen 1 being unable to get off, the Packakariki team will be unable to attend the demonstration to-morrow, but 30 or 40 of the members will come up on Sun- ,; day. They will bring their reel and j give a demonstration on the beach in I (he afternoon. The Otaki Carnival ■ Committee is endeavouring to arrange 1 a competition in which the visitors ean ; participate, and provide an interesting outing for them and tho local public, j To-day the weather is flne with ev- ; cry indication of these conditions continuing. If so, the success of to-mor-row 's gathering is assured, as well as that on Sunday.
