HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
AT OTAJCJ OI» THURSDAY. On Thursday next tlie- Horowhen.ua Horticultural and Industrial Society will hold tlo- annual autumn show in the tftaki ihoatre. The prize-schedule on the lines of former years provides a good field of competition in pot plants, cut. blooms, fruit, vegetables, farm produce, bouquet® and decorations, domestic and miscellaneous, and there is also a children V section for competitors under 15 years. The seAson, taken all round, has been a favourable one for growth of all kinds, and no excellent display of the fruits of the soj) should be staged. Cut blooms are always a strong section an the local show, and vegetables and farm produce afford the opportunity of showing what Otaki soils’ are capable of, seeing that this favoureij dijtrict"*)s famous throughout the Dominion. for productivity. - These section* alone should make an exhibition in themselves. Attention is directed to the domestic section, which covers a wide field of cuJniary activity, and special prizes are provided for a spongesandwich competition for competitors under 16. The prospects for the show are good, antf if the favourable season is any criterion, the entry should bo a record. Among the attractions at, the show will be an exhibit of dahlias, staged by Mr A.
