OTAKI LIBRARY.

THE PROPOSED NEW BUILDING. A meeting of the Otaki Library Committee was held yesterday afternoon, those present being the Mayor (in the chair), Mrs Swabey, Mrs Cook. Rev. Pctric and Messrs A. ,T. Watts and Norgrove (secretary). An oiler was received for the purchase of the present library and ground, but was not deemed sufficient, and the Mayor and Mr -Pctrie were deputed to negotiate w ith the party from whom the offer was received. It wa.s decided that in the event of the erection of a new building, to -approach" the Rest Resort Committee and ascertain if some arrangement can be come to by which (he library can be built on Rest Resort property so that the positions of librarian and custodian of the resort may be combined.
