BUILD NOW.
To the Editor. Sir, —We went into the war to aid in making the world a better place in which to live. Behind the victory of arms, if the Dominion is to appropriate her share of the fruits of victory, must be the determination to do those thing* which make for prosperity and for a happier and more contented people. Homes, the very foundation of the social structure; schools, the mould in which our citizenship is cast; roads, the arteries r>i' commerce' churches, the springs of spiritual inspiration; are
needed much if New Zealand is to be made a better place in which to live. War interrupted our construction work in these lines. The Dominion needs a million houses right now. It needs hundreds of schools. There are not enough good roads or churches. To resume work in these lines immediately means convincing evidence of your faith in the country's future —it means stimulation for all lines of business, and of profound importance right at this time—it means a demand for labor and employment for the returned soldiers. Build now! —I am, etc., W. W. CORBETT, Wellington.
