OTAKI THEATRE.

SCREAMING- BOX COMEDY. TO-NIGHT. “Skirts,” a six act Fox Sunshine comedy, which is said to have been produced on so lavish a scale that nine months were required to complete it, will be the offering at the Otaki theatre to-night. Usual' comedy standards were completely thrown into the discard when “Skirts” was produced. In place of one or two stars, not less than

fifteen of Iht most prominent film comedy players of note appear. In place of the dozen or so bathing beauties, three thousand of the “Fascinating Sunshine .Widows” prance their way through tho scenes, cl <d in creations calculated to make the eyes of the fair sex smart with envy. Slap stick was laid aside I irfr situations. Comedy was generously blended with thrills. Airplanes, cyclones, train wrecks, auto smashups, parachute drops, were used for their share of excitement and fun. And, as if these were not sufficient, William Fox, head of'*he Fox Film Corporation, closed tho season C<r one of the biggest sfcwe-us in the country, to his Los Angeles studios am-CTncorporated it into the production. ’ The world famous Singer Midget Troupe "have contributed their bit —a generously big bit—-and the result will bring delight to every child, small and grew,a up, that sees “Skirts.” To Hampton Del Ruth goes the credit for conceiving the story and directing it. “Skirts” has proved one of Fox’s biggest hits, and should bring a full house in Otaki to-night.
