* OTAKI THEATRE s SPECIAL NOTICE, e urday night last, I am completely 5 re-organising the policy of the above " Theatre. I found the film supply not J altogether satisfactory, in some cases the films being a year old before they were shown in Otaki, and consequently were often in very bad condition. I wont to Wellington, and went into the | whole matter, and I am now able to announce that commencing from Wednesday next I shall have the finest pic- • tures obtainable. I My Saturday night’s programme comes from the famous King’s Theatre in Wellington, and will be shown here ' within a few weeks of 'being shown there. The Wednesday programmes are also first-class, being the same as is shown at the Grand Theatre in Christchurch, and arc known as the First National programme. | For Mondays, .1 start to-night with ‘LIFE’S A FUNNY PROPOSITION,’ a Eobertson-Cole production featuring William Desmond and Louise Lovely; and then following with some very fine pictures. By the way,, if I find Monday nights not patronised sufficiently I shall have to cut out that night. I have been asked by several patrons to continue showing on Mondays and | give it a fair trial under the new’ conditions. For Friday nights, I have arranged with Fox to show their famous pictures. They are too well known to you to need any elaboration. I need only say that in future they will be shown here four months earlier than has been the case i«i the past. To get this favourable position on the circuit, I have had to take Fox programmes on Friday nights. This new arrangement will not come into operation for two or three weeks yet. Now I’ve got an EXTRA SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT to make. I have arranged with Fox Films to show that famous comedy “SKIRTS.” NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT, February 22nd. It features Clyde Cook (the man about seven feet high) and the famous SINGER MIDGETS. It’s an absolute shriek. Don’t come if laughing hurts you, and please note that to get this picture I am paying double rate of hire. In spite of this fact however, I intend charging only ordinary prices. lam determined that the people of Otaki shall have the very best, and provided that. I am supported in my enterprise I do not intend to raise prices. Now don’t forget Wednesday next; there’s over 6000 feet, and a laugh in every foot. Look out in later issues for particulars of “LYING LIPS.” A famous Thos. Dice production with an All Star Cast, to be shown SATURDAY NEXT, February 25th. NOTE.—Next Friday’s programme will be: “CHILDREN OF DESTINY.” In conclusion, I would like to point out that I am having the theatre thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and my motto will bp “A CLEAN THEATRE and GOOD PICTURES.” A.
