PERSONAL.
Captain Bax was among the visitors to Otaki this week. He returned to Napier to-day. The Rev. R. P. Keall leaves Otaki on Monday to attend the N\Z. Methodist Centenary at Auckland. It is reported that Mr E. P. Shandbolt, farmer, of Matamata, is opposing the sitting member (Sir William Herries), for the Tuuranga electorate in the interests of the new political party, bereaved husband. The funeral of the late .Mr Harry Field took place at Paraparauni.u on Wednesday, when there was a large following, among the number being Mi W. H. Field. M.P., uncle of the deceased. Impressive services were conduct ed at the Church and graveside by till Rev. Kendrick, while many floral tributes were placed on the coffin.
