CROQUET.

A fair amount of interest is being evinced in croquet at present, aud of late some interesting games have been played. In the “sudden death” competition for Mrs Davies’ trophy Mrd Ollivor beat Mrs Bills, but in turn was defeated by Miss Baker.

In the--open competition, for prizes donated by Mrs Atkinson (first) and Mrs Siddells (second) some good contests have already resultod. Misti Baker beat Airs Siddells, Mrs Brandey beat Airs Pole, Miss VVhitenlan beat Mrs Naah, Mrs Davies beat Mrs Noble, and Mrs Olliver defeated Airs Bills.

In the Doubles competition for troi phio H presented by Mrs Bills and Mrs Satherley (first) and Mrs Cook and Mrs Wilson (second) Airs Noble and Airs Bills beat Mrs Davies and Mrs Braiuley, and also defeated Mrs Ollivor and Miss Whiteman.

For “B” players for trophies presented by Mrs IVitchell (first), Miss Baker (second) Mrs Olliver bent Airs Bills, and also defeated Mrs Brantley. In the “ladder” the position is us follows:—Mrs Noble, Mrs Dnvies, Aliss Whiteman, Mrs Atkinson, Alias Baker, Mrs Nash, Airs IVitchell, Airs Pole, Mrs Bramley, Mrs Olliver. Mrs Biddells, Airs Kilmister, Mrs Cook, Mrs Bills, Airs Smith, Mrs Broadway, Airs Freeman, Airs Tattersall. Of recent date Mrs Atkinson defeated Mrs Nash and Miss Baker, while Miss Whiteman beat Aliss Baker. .
