OUR REST RESORT.
A SUGGESTION HOW TO IMPROVE IT. Mr J. P. Brandon (Mayor) has received the following letter which speaks for itself: —“My Bear Sir, —I am writing you re our Rost Resort: Now a few ladies of the township were discussing a little problem as to how they would like to help our little town to further itself. One of them said if wo could only get someone of the Borough Council (of course that person is always the Hon. Mayor) to “call a meeting” and at once try and have a mardi gras all would be well. Now, we suggest that four queens be appointed and see how much wc can get from the public on a whole. We want to help, an. 4 that’s a woman’s only way of helping her township. Easter is coming; if we could only get it on before then we are sure if vvjOlild be appreciated by all, and our fine young, -ladies would be proud of themselves. Oh! please, do try and see what yon can do for us girls; we would love to help. The meeting can be any night you wish to mention; we are eager to sec the proposition in the paper as soon as possible. Of course, we must appoint a Maori queen, some young girl who is popular among Maoris and Europeans as well. ..Thanking you with our most humble thanksgiving.— AVe are, yours very willingly, A CHORUS OF HELPERS. Mr Brandon considers tho suggestion an excellent one and will bring the matter under the notice of the Best Besort Committee at its next meeting which, he understands from the Chairman of the Rest- Besort Committee, will be held shortly.
