Mr Frank Penn, late of Otaki, has been elected on the centenary committee of the Cambridge Methodist Church to make arrangements for the centenary celebrations, and also as a cireat steward. Mr Athol Penn has beennleoted an auxiliary steward. Among the visitors at “Rangiuru” House are the following:—Mrs and Miss M.' Wills (Wellington), Misses Sinclair (Lower Hutt), Mrs Finn (Wellington), Miss A. Campbell (Seatoun, Wellington), Mr and Mrs Hoggard and children (Lower Hutt), and Mr Andrews (Palmerston North). Mrs Calixtan, who has filled the position ol housekeeper at the Central Development Farm for the last eight years, retires on superannuation to-day. She was met by me staff and employees a few evenings ago and presented with a wallet of bank notes, the presentation being made by Mr W. J. McCulloch, the manager, who wished Mrs Caiman a long and happy life In her retirement. The death of a lady, Mrs Saxon, who was for many years well known in Levin, took place at Tahuna, Mor- , rinsville, on Friday last. Mrs Saxon ( was the widow of the late Mr J. Saxon, and was 74 years of age. Sire came to New Zealand with her father, Major Hcmetrian, of the Imperial 3 Army, when four years of age. Mrs Saxon married in Nelson, and lived f there, and in Feilding and Levin, a leaving about 13 months ago for Mor- P rinsville. She leaves a grown-up d family, 'who include Mrs Franklin tl Webb (Walkanae), Mrs C. 8. Easther ft (Tahuna), and Messrs, A. and J. t< -y«c (Shannon) and R. S.
