PERSONAL.
Miss -Sealy, matron of the Otaki hospital, is at present on animal holiday in Nelson. Sister Pownall is at present acting as matron. •Mr D. J. Reardon, well-known in Otaki, is now a borough councillor in Wanganui. He is also captain of the life-saving club at Castlecliffe. Mrs Frances, of Levin, who entered the Otaki hospital over two years ago, died at the institution yesterday, aged 47 years. Deceased, who was buried at Otaki this morning, leaves a husband and family.
Neville Parsonson, the nine-year-osld son of Mr H. J. H- Parsonson, of Ghau, met with a painful accident on Monday. He was dismounting from a motor-cycle, the engine of which was still running, when his foot became entangled in ihe cogs arid was badly injured. The big toe had to fre amputated as a result, but the sufferer is bearing the shock well and progressing as well as can be expected.
Mr S. Eddy, recently appointed postmaster at Otaki, arrived yesterday and commenced duties to-day. Mr A. B. Card, who has been relieving, leaves with Mrs Card to-day on holiday. During Mr Card’s term of seven weeks here he has become very popular and will be much missed. He was also a highly efficient officer, capable and obliging.
