SPORTING.

At the meeting of stewards of the Masterton Pacing Club it was pointed out that though the rules of racing provided that all racing clubs must have one race eacty day for - hurdle horsemen, there was no such race provided for in the programme for either day of the Wairarapa Pacing Club’s meeting. Mr C. F. Vallance stated that he had fought hard at the Racing Conference for the exemption from this rule of clubs holding a one-day meeting, but without success. The programme for the autumn meeting, as drawn up by' tho programme committee, was adopted, and it was resolved to start tho first race at K o ’clock. On the recommendation of the finance committee, it was resolved to offer £IOOO in stakes, compared with £l(iSo at the corresponding meeting last year.
