Mr Les. McDonald, who was injured it Marton through a fall from Note-a-vede, is making good progress. Mr Swift, of Otaki, accompanied by lis daughter, Mrs Creed, have left on ioliday for Te Aroha. After a ( stay there they will proceed to Thames and Auckland. Ml ll ■■ II —JH»»«m,.. BURGLARY AT PAEKAKARIKI. £2OO STOLEN. THIEVES REMOVE A SATE. During Saturday night, thieves re moved from the railway refreshment room at Paekakariki a safe weighing about ocwt., containing about £2OO ii cash, and some bonds and deeds. Several, detectives were sent fron Wellington yesterday to make investi gations. It is surmised that the safe was takei across the railway line and place i: a motor vehicle. The thieves gained entrance to th refreshment room through a window which they forced orjen with a crow bar taken from a guard's van in th vicinity. Mr T. F.
