The local team won the . toss, but'were all disposed for 33 runs, [ Bowden and Pirimi being the only • ones to make a stand. Te Horo open- : ed up badly, losing nine wickets for . 20 runs, Williams being unplayable at . times. Te Horo's last man (Eopata) put up a good showing and he and Bob King secured 37 runs in three overs, making a total.of 57. In the local boys' second attempt they again failed to do well and were all disposed of for 37 runs. Pirimi (12) and Kearns (7) were the only ones to make any showing. G. King secured six wickets for 12 runs. This left Te Horo 14 runs to win, but it took nine men to get the necessary runs.
