WAIKANAE NOTES.
Io mark the end of tne year's work .!;".■ K>iae Johncton entertained her I lanotorte pupils and their parents and friends to afternoon tea in St. J "aid's Sunday schoolroom. Paraparaumu, last Saturday. Most of the pupils, both from WaiItanae and Pstraparaumu, contributed pianoforte pieces to make up a pleasant little con< erf. while some of them besides playing added other items to the performance. These, were Joyce Robinson and Maude Shaw, who reeited with much effect, and Sheila Lynch, who sang. A special privilege for the guests was a song from Miss F. E. Evans, of Paekakariki, whose contralto voice is of uncommon sweetness and strength.
Miss John-ton's pupils gave evidence of care and application in their work, while very much credit is due to
Miss Johnston herself for the very good level of attainment. She is a painstaking teacher of real knowledge and ability to impart it.
