The engagement is u -.ouncod of Mrs William Galloway, daughter of Mr and Mrs .1. P. Brandon, of Otaki, to Reginald W. Mander, eldest son of Mrs A. 0. Mander. of Auckland.

Mr and Mrs C. 11. G. Iledditch and Mr C. Bell arrived back on Saturday after an extensive motor trip through, the. thermal regions. They journeyed via Napier to Pohui, Taupo. Rotonia, and back via the Main Trunk. A most enjoyable time was spent.

A wedding of special interest to residents of Waikanae and district was celebrated at All Saint.-' f'hurcb, Otaki. la-t Friday afternoon, the con-

tracting parties being Mr William Thomas Moulin, tablet porter, and Mrtf Millii-enl Therea Karl, both of Wai-, kanae. Miss Annie Winifred Heck acted at" bridesmaid. The wedding was a very quiet one. A very qnie; wedding was celebrated at All Saint-' Church. Otaki, nil Saturday morning last,, when Mr Frank Bwcnsson, of Otaki. was m; rried to Mis- Ivy Vine Ksther AshtOß, • T Lower Hutt. Mr- A. P. Ferguson acted as bridesmaid, and Mr Ferguson as best man, while the ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. F. Petrie, M.A. , ; Mr- Solomon Parata, of Waikanae, 1 died at tho Otaki Hospital on Friday la-t. after being a patient there for about a fortnight. She was a middleaged woman, whose husband died during the influenza epidemic, some Jnvo year.- ago. She leaves two children — a -on and daughter. Deceased WD'-J very well known at Waikanae. 3?be funeral took place on Sunday, tho interment being at the Otaki cemejjety, conducted by the Rev. O. F. Petrie, M.A.
