Then her mother, coming to look for her, saw ber danger in a moment, and. dinning to her to keep still, rushed into the hou«.e and brought back a bowl of warm milk, which she placed near the f.nafce. When the repile perceived the milk it glided away toward- it. and the girl sprang clear away as a blow ended the viper',- power to do mischief.
