QUESTION OF TAKING OVER. Matters in connection with the pro- 1 pusal for the Palinerstou North Hos-U pital Board to take over the Otaki Cottage Hospital were briefly discussed at yesterday's Board meeting, when a letter was received from the Inspector-General of Hospitals, notifying that the conference of llie Board with the Department regarding the Otaki Hospital would be held at Otaki on January 12, 1921, immediately after, the arrival of the Napier express from Wellington. Mr F. J'eun i Otaki; deprecated the fact that the meeting was to bo held so late. He had been very much interested ill the question, and was lcav- ' iug the district at the end of the year.^ The Chairman (isir .lames Wilson) said the date was arranged before it was known that Mr Pcnn was leaving.! Mr W. Murdoch (Shannon) commenced a discussion oil the question of whether the expense and time epenl on the trip was justified, but Mr Nash rose to a point of order, as the Board had already decided on the conference.
