WOOL SALES.
THE WELLINGTON SALES. The entries for the Wellington wool i sale, which is to be held on Monday , next, closed at 5 p.m. yesterday. At i the sale the combined brokers will < offer a catalogue of 1500 bales. THE CHRISTCHURCH SALES. APPRECIABLE ADVANCE IN PRICES. Christchurch, November 16. It is pointed out that at yesterday s wool sales there were enough buyers present to assimilate five times the catalogue with little concern, but ! their policy was obviously one of wait- | ing, with the probability that had any ; particular buyer operated freely he would have had no competition to con- | tend with. As a matter of fact the | brokers to-day sold quite an amount I of the passed-in catalogue at lid to 2d per pound more than the price bid at I auction, most of the sales being to j local buyers, but occasional lots were i so id to outside representatives. The 1 fact that, sales have taken place from ‘ 15 to 20 per tent in advance of offers | would seem to suggest that Monday’s ! prices about touched bedrock.
