MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR.

YOUNG WOMAN SHOT. Christchurch, November 8. Yesterday morning Mrs F. Malaquin, a married woman, twenty years of age, was removed to the Christchurch hospital suffering from a bullet wound in her head. The matter was not reported to the police until the evening.' The woman’s condition To-night is' reported to be satisfactory, but the bullet lias not yet been extracted. There is a good deal of mystery attaching to the affair. Her husband states that the shooting was purely accidental, and says that the explanation ho gave to the police was accepted as satisfactory. The neighbours state that Mr and Mrs Malaquin lived very happily together.
