PROPOSED OTAKI BOROUGH.
COMMISSION’S REPORT. The Commission which recently a* at Otaki to consider the pr q-o.ai to constitute Qtaki a borough, comprising Messrs F. K. Hunt, S.M., G. H. M. McClure (Commissioner of Crown Lands) and F. N. Martin (District F'aluer), has forwarded the following report: "tVe. the Commissioners appointed by your Excellency cis the 6th day of October. 1920, in pursuance of a com mission dated as aforesaid, held an inquiry at the Otaki Courthouse at 11 a.m. on Thursday, the 21st October. 3920, ax to whether »he area described in the petition attached to the sail commission be constituted a borough, to be known as the Borough of Otaki. and as to its suitability for municipal control. “.After heaving evidence for the petitioner* and objectors and caret:: Jy going over the district ami viewing the proposed boundaries, we have come to the conclusion that a considerable proportion of the arri proposed to be included in the borx’gh is not suitable for municipal control.
