j DEATH OP ADVANCE. j Information has been received from Bulls of the death of the oile-time brilliant racehorse Advance, which occurred at Mr Duncan Eraser’s, Parawanui. Advance was by Vanguard — Laurel, and was bred by the lafe Mr ' Donald Fraser. He won his first race in P. Edwards’ name (under lease), and was then leased to Mr Duncan, of Wellington, who raced as ‘‘Douglas Gordon,” the black horse being trained by the veteran, Mr Jos. Prosser. T. (“Tommy”) Wilson rode Advance in his early engagements, but later Charlie Jenkins piloted the son of Vanguard in most of his successes.
