They are staying with Mr and Mrs H. G. Bryant. M r E. S. Lancaster, of Levin, has had to re-enter a Wellington private hospital to undergo a serious opera tion. Mr- Ham Morgan, who had the misfortune to .-cveraly scald her foot during the week, is making good progre She is, however, still a patient at the Otaki Hospital. Master Box, son of Air F. W. Box. foil from a tree on Monday last, and as a result is an inmate of the Otaki Hospital, having cut his knee in the fall. The death occurred at Wellington yesterday of Air Henry Brittain, the well-known chemist, who passed away after four months’ illness at his residence. 70, Brougham street. The late Mr Brittain, who was in his 80th year, was born at Walsall, Staffordshire. England. He arrived in Xew Zealao i when he was 19 years of age, and made chemistry his life’s work. He is survived by two sons—Messrs. Harry Brittain (Sydney) and Percy Brittain (Wellington), and six daughters—Urn J. W. Bramwell (Pending), Mrs J. Roberts, Mr* J. W.
