HOROWHENUA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
SIXTY NEW MEMBERS
A meeting of the HorotvLeuua A. and P. Association was held on Saturday last to consider the matter of enlisting life members at a subscription ~f £io each. The proposal was keenly supported by all present, and several handed in their names as willing to become life members. A committee was appointed for the purpose of making a systematic canvass for further support in the matter. The object of ihe movement is that the Association may get. sufficient funds in hand to enable them to make certain permanent improvements in yards and building for covering stock, etc., instead of depending on the profits derived from each year’s show. A meeting of the Executive Committee was also held, when some CO odd new members were elected. It is hoped that the membership will be increased by fully 100 to 120 rhis year. Donations are coming to hand freely and up to the present the following is a list of those promised and received, for which the committee tender their thanks and appreciation: —
