STUD CATTLE SALE A RECORD FOR THE FARM. The annual sale ol' stud stock at the Central Development Farm took place on Thursday, and proved the most successful that has yet been held in connection with the institution. The catalogue comprised 3S Friesian bulls, cows and heil'ers, and three Red Poll bulls, and every entry was disposed of at most satisfactory prices. There was a representative attendance of buyers, breeders from as far north as the Waikato and as far south as Invercargill being present, the -South Islanders securing 13 of the Friesian animal-. The manner in which the stock was presented, and the excellent arrangements in connection with the sale, were creditable to Farm management Th e stock were in splendid order, ami were shown to the best advantage. The bidding throughout was spirited, the catalogue returning a total of £1’377 9s, an average for the 41 animals of £O3. Of the Friesians, the best price of the day was for the 1 female Dominion Sadie Vale, which went to Mr W. Bevan, of Manakau. r'or 105 guineas, after keen competition.
