Palmerston Chamber of Commerce 1." alive to the advantage of establishing local woollen mills. The secretary re ported to the last meeting that he had been in conversation with Mr W. J. Poison, of Wanganui, who bad sai-J that £195,000 had been subscribed for the Wanagnui mills and applications were still coming in. With a capital of £40,000 or £50,000, branches of the mill could be started in Palmerston North and Hawke’a Bay. A separate prospectus could be issued in each case, and if the branches did not get on with headquarters at Wanganui they coui i break away and work on their own account. Messrs I>. H.
