METEOROLOGICAL.
There were sixteen days of rain during August. the heaviest full being ~8 incites on the 261 b. There were two groups of rairty days—from tho 52nd to the 7th and from the 25th to the BOtb. During the latter group 2.12 m fell out of a total for the whole month of 5>.53in. In August. 1919. 19H iindn - fell. The average for August of the last Hi years was 2.5)8 inches. There were seven “frosts” during the month just past. It is not anticipated that, even if Otaki becomes a borough, there will be any more “frosts” per month.
