“MONEY AND MORALS.”
Mr Evelyn Macdonald, of Te Horo. has a "reed to give an address, under the auspices of the Otaki Literary and Debating Club, on the above subject on September 27tb. In writing to the secretary of the Club on this matter. Mr Macdonald says:— “I have to acknowledge your lettei, and to thank your Society for affording the occasion for a public address on “Money and Morals.” It takcs ; am I trust will maintain, a high aim m 1 - education function. There is so much discord and uncouth load murmuring that wc are very prone to become ou of line and finally deaf to the Bterna Harmonies, and in the darkness or the world's ignorance, and the coldness o the world's greed, it has seemed that are ptore likely to smother us educators warmth and with smoke than gt'i *' - --latity In a subject so full of we*,, Hgirrv* »-• i . «... " I ask | and involved consideration., patience and forgiveness if I wound the feelings of any. Touching upon historic facts and causes one. must (or seem to) injure the prestige of parties and I know some individuals are super-sensitive. History has beeri confuted. and facts confounded, by bitter prejudice, and generations have been obsessed by it. Appeals fromi the broader and enlightened ..
