LEVIN COMMITTEE’S RESIGNATION.
COMMITTEE ASKED TO RECOftoIDER, The resignation of the Levin School Committee last week as a protest against the delay in providing additional rooms at the Levin District High School was considered at the meeting of the Education. Hoard on Wednesday., and a resolution was passed asking the committee to reconsider its decision, in view of the fact that the Board has done its utmost in the matter, and stating that it. would again approach the Department and lay the matter before them. With regard to the controversy be tween the Levin School Committee ami the Board in connection with the pro posed a dubious to the Levin school. Mr Harkncss, the local Board repre seututive, stated that from the start there lias been quite a misunderstanding of the position by the Levin Committee concerning the attitude taken up by the Board. The Board, espeei;,||r ihe local members, '.Messrs Field and Darkness, had done their utmost i. i Ihe matter from the outset. the ijuiav was simply the result oi a stonewall on the part of t lie. Croat surprise and regret was expressed at the ‘‘direct action’’ ot the School Committee in resigning in the face of the fact that the Board all along hud done its best in support ing the committee.
