FOXTON R.C. At the annual meeting of the Fox ton Racing Club on Wednesday night, the following officers were elected: Patron, Mr Frank Robinson; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs C. E. Robinson, O Robinson. W. K. Barber and Dr Maudl; treasurer, Mr R. Bryant; ’ clerk of scales, Mr J. V. Burr; timekeeper. Mr A. J. Mahon; committee, Messrs Bryant. Hammond. Jewell. H. Coh-y, Purcell, G. C. Coley. Burr. Petrie and Green. In accordance with notice previously given, Mr Jewell moved “to re seind rule 8 of the club’s rules and to substitute the following: “At every annual meeting three of tin- members of the committee, being those «lio have been longest in office without reelection. shall retire, but shall be eligible for re-election; the remaining members of the committee shall remain in office for the following year, without re-election. If there shall be a doubt on any occasion as to which of the members of the committee -hell retire under this rule, the question shall be determined by lot. the method of lot to be decided by the presiding officer of the club.” The motion was carried. At the same time a committee was set up to draft fresh rules. The financial position of the Foxton Racing Club is sound, but owing to the fire in March which burned the club’s records no balance-sheet could be presented at the annual meeting.
