Why arc Otaki Convent School children better off than the State School children ? Because they have a lot of fathers and sisters. What is the difference between Otaki and a rabbit? The rabbit has made his burrow and Otaki is trying to make a borough. Why is a burglar afraid to go into a washhousc ? Because he is afraid of the copper. Why is a ship like a cricket match? Because you have to toss up before the match starts. Why is George TattersalJ like a good book.' Because he is often looked over. When a stranger comes to live in Otaki and wants to bank, what, does he think? Witch-ell if. be.' Why is the Peace Memorial section the oldest section in Otaki? Because it grows the elder trees. Why are two music teachers in Otaki proud of their pupils? Because they are both Nobles. In what way is Otaki like England. Because a lot of Xobles live there. Why are Noble's sausages like a half-caste piggie.' Because they are half-bread. Why is Otaki like a rabbit .' ' Because it wants a borough. • Why does Otaki resemble a surveyor's notebook' At one end it has I'ields. in the middle Grand(d)fields. and at the end eleai kinds. Why should Otaki have plcntv of i coin? Because there is a mint on (Minton) the main street. I Who wears the S.S.F.? Mi Ben. Ling. Why} . ; Because the S.S.F. is "stiff shir! ! trout.'' Because in it there tire spreading trees "with scats beneath the shad", for talking age and whispering lovers" (on moonlight night-) not made. Why is the Otaki River the largest river in the North Island' Because it has the City of Auckland in its mouth. Should one of the Otaki school teachers be proud of her class? Yes. Why. Because one of her pupil- is fa) Noble. * Why is ir that Otaki has no(burrow) | borough. Because it has no rabbits. Why does Mr Gittens represent a certain class of .-oldiers? Because he is a digger (gravedigger). Why is the Otaki doctor like a needle .' Because he is sharp. Why is the Otaki River the most important river of New Zealand?
