MANAKAU.
A special benefit picture entertainment will be held at Manakau on Tuesday next, the object being to raise funds to provide Mr S, J. Gilbert (organising secretary of the Y.M.G.A. movement in this district) with~a motor cycle. Mr Gilbert has a very wide district to cover —from Shannon, Foxtou, Levin, to Te Horo —and a committee has set to work to secure him a motor cycle. The object is one that should have the sympathy of residents of all parts of the district. The special film to be screened on Tuesday night is entitled "Hell Roarin' Reform." a tiptop cowboy film, in which a devil-may-care cowboy rides to glory. Tom Mix was never seen in a better picture than this. The hero is the in carnation of fearlessness—a hard riding,' quick-shooting dare-devil whe takes more chances to provide thrill; for motion pictures than any other niai who ever faced the camera. He doe: many wonderful feats in this picture in which the cowboy mixes gun pla? and religion with a vim that is won derful to behold. The picture shouh attract a packed house, and help ii raise a good sum for the object in view
