Miss Marsden, of Christchurch, is on an extended visit to Manakau, staying with her sister, Mrs 'Let, Staples. Mrs R. JJ. Harknes- and family, of Te Hero, have tak n up residence on their new farm property in Bulier road, Levin. Mr H. Lauder, who has. been in this district for the past two years,'Craves to morrow to take up a position in. a factor}- at Eltham. His many friends will wish him all success. Mr anti Mrs L. T. Watkins and family, of Wellington, motored through to Otaki oh Saturday, and spent the week-end at the seaside resort. Mr -J. A. Young, M.P. for Waikato, was among the week-end visitors to Otaki. He was the guest of Mr and Mrs W. Vaughan. Mi-- holier, who has been on an ex-tcndc-d visit to the Old Country, has returned to Mew Zealand, and is expected to resume her duties at the local State school almost immediately. Mr and Mrs W. 0. Dry-dale were entertained at a farewell social at N'ireaha prior to thejr departure for Otaki, and were presented wfth a handsome clock from the residents of the district. The funeral of the late Mrs A. 3. Knock.- took place yesterday afternoon, when the remain* were laid to rest ip the Otaki Native cemetery. The cortege «&e a representative one, while the ceremony was impressive.
