Burraclough said Mrs Dent’s husband died of wouuds. AVitli her portion she struggled„suecessfully to make a comfortable home. Then a man took advantage of her by falsely representing that he was single, and when a baby was born five months ago -Mrs Dent was afraid of losing her pension if the Government learned of its birth. He believed her statement that fear of becoming destitute through loss of her pension was the sole reason why she l left the child in it passage adjoining a Birsfall house.
