MOTOR TAX.

LEGISLATION THIS SESSION. Wellington, Monday. The Government intends this session lo legislate in the direction of taxing motor ears. The basis is not yet quite settled, and there is a strong difference of opinion on the subject among tho motor organisations. The Budget will probably iudieato what is to be done, and the money will be specially allocated to the provision of better arterial roads. A consolidation of the Municipal Corporations Act has been introduced by the Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Internal Affairs. So far it contains no alterations in policy, but it- is intended to bring down a number of important amendments in a Supplementary Order Taper, and the motor taxation scheme will then lie included in the measure.
