' and one night Janice i.- entired into a ) room in an hotel by ui«.*an« of a note j to which WehhV nam,-, has been forged j bv Brenton. infatuated with the girl, j Dixie, a dance hall entertainer, who . loves Brcnton. intercepts the note and, i in a jealous rage, -hoot- Brenton ami escapes. Webb teams of the forged i ■ note and goes straight to the room j where Janice lies in a swoon through » fright. Believing Janice shot Brenton, ? Webb secretes the revolver, and when j Beekmau and several officers reach the room, he is arrested and charged with ' murder. Janice, who insists that Bren- ! saw on the wall at the rime ot the 1 shooting, is spirited away by beihrian a::.! held prisoner. From here on the I " ... ..~i !
