AV. Bowden ami 11. Robinson were the most successful riders engaged at the Napier fixture. They each rode two winner.-, and K. MeSevenc-y. E. AVarner. A. .1. M'-Flynn. F. Flynn. AV. J. Morris. B. Reed. AV. DUlumorc. J. Roach. D. Cameron, and M. MeCartcn one apiece. Arthur Oliver, who bus been on the Ilighden staff for some years, intends, after a prolonged holiday, taking up farming pursuits. Oliver will be missed if oiu the racecourse arena, as he was recognised as one of the most finished riders the Dominion has poauced. The contest for the jockey premier: ship is good go between the Reed brother-, with G. Young close handy. A- the season is nearly at an end the winner must come irom one of the three. Harris made a wonderful recovery on jjasdulc in the Hurdle Race at Flemington he visited the jockeys ’ room in order specially to congratulate him on his skill. Ihe incident happened immediately in front of the Royal box. so that the Prince had an excellent view of the incident. He also congratulated Boyd, who was on the winner. Lcddington. His gen:a* manner ai.d sportsmanlike spirit caused a great impression, and ihere were frefluent remarks as he moved about. “He’s a diaktna sport alright!”
