MORE LIGHT.
CO-OPERATIVE PRODUCER AND CO-OPERATIVE CONSUMER. (Contributed.) 'More light is being asked by dairymen in the mutter of the proposed purchase by contract at prices fixed by a board of representatives of buyer and seller (being consumer and producer) Of the whole Dominion output of dairy produce, by the "British Consumers Co-operative Wholesale society.'- It is felt in some quarters that the issue is being deliberately clouded. We incline to think that us a community we arc not sufficiently farseeing, but are behind the times in the world-wide cry •Eor education and co-operation, and lacking in the spirit of wider and friendlier intercourse. This is shown by many recent events, such as the failures and abortions of recent conferences. We trust young New Zealand will rise to this occasion, and that dairy fa-ctory representatives will trust suppliers with more information "before the event." and thai they will not turn down or accept the proposal to be placed before them at Palmerston North on Wednesday next, without a thorough investigation and consultation with their clients and shareholdersuppliers. Not only producer and consumer, hut banker. n:cr.'kr;nt and shipowner are vitally interested.
